Aloha Performing Arts Company will inaugurate its 2015-16 main-stage production season Oct. 9 with a re-imagining of the cult rock ’n’ roll musical “The Rocky Horror Show.”

Guest director Miguel Montez takes the reins for this production, which will play Friday and Saturday evenings through Halloween. Let’s do “The Time Warp” again!

In December, APAC artistic director Jerry Tracy will revive his portrayal of his fellow Missourian Samuel Langhorne Clemens in “Christmas With Mark Twain,” a new work offering a glimpse into Twain’s family life at holiday time in his beloved “Hartford House” in Connecticut, when his three daughters were young. Performances will be Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons, Dec. 4-20.

Feb. 12 through March 16, the enchanting Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, “South Pacific” will bring to life two romances set on a South Pacific island during World War II. A lively cast will sing their hearts out in this beloved Broadway classic.

“Inherit the Wind,” a stirring courtroom drama by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee, will take the stage April 15 through May 1, guest directed by Karen Barry.

In the summer, keiki and teens take the spotlight, as “A Kidsummer Night’s Dream” unfolds June 10-19. This delightful mash-up of fun scenes and songs from Shakespeare will be cast entirely with actors age 18 and younger. The charming collection of classic Bard moments is assembled by APAC’s Tracy and Los Angeles playwright Susie Burke to showcase Kona’s young performers.

APAC closes the season with “Next to Normal,” a moving new musical about one family’s struggle with mental illness. With music by Tom Kitt and lyrics by Brian Yorkey, this controversial piece examines and sometimes questions society’s attitudes. This memorable hit from the 2009 Broadway season makes its Hawaii Island premiere, running July 15-31.

APAC’s website, apachawaii.org, provides complete audition information for the new lineup, and season tickets and flex passes are available now for this diverse roster of shows.
